new install but no admin sidebar?

I have just installed mean.io and have also just made a admin account but when I login to that admin account there is no sidebar?

Here is the versions of stuff thats installed and the packages I have:

DB connection successful!

MongoDB URI: mongodb://localhost/mean-dev

checking meanio and global mean-cli versions
mean-cli at latest version: 0.12.14
meanio at latest version: 0.9.3

I have tried updating via npm but to no avail.
