How to send link from Android?

Open shrippen opened this issue 2 years ago • 14 comments

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. I want to add links when browsing on my android phone via the share to menu or similar means.

Vivaldi doesn't let me add extensions on my phone sadly. With wallabag there is an android app that is used as a share to target that lets me circumvent this. Can something similar be done for Linkwarden?

Seconded

I'm currently doing this with Firefox beta and a custom extension list to get around the allowed extension issue so that u can use the linkwarden extension.

Unsure on how it can be added to the share menu though. Android app? PWA installed to the device then shared to?

Either way this would be super helpful

On the way to raindrop.io quality it would be a major milestone

A simple app that allowed a URL to be sent to linkwarden via the android share menu would be amazing!

Would prefer a native android link share into linkwarden, even if its a dummy app that is only installed in order hook into the share menu of android. Or some better way to bridge this gap with the PWA?

I installed the PWA on my Android but it does not appear in the Share handler. This write-up appears to indicate this is imminently possible to do with Android PWA's: https://chodounsky.com/2019/03/24/progressive-web-application-as-a-share-option-in-android/

This now also works well with the new API token enhancement, alleviating the need to grab a session cookie.

Hey guys, over the last few weeks I have developed an android app companion for Linkwarden. It allows uploading links via the share context menu and quickly accessing the webui (very similar to what the pwa already does). It's on f-droid as of today. I hope this resolves most of the issues people have using Linkwarden on android.

If you have feedback please let me know in the repository (and leave a star if you like)!

This is fantastic. I can confirm the app works with authentik as the backend for SSO/oAuth. Sharing also works great and the app itself seems to be a webwrapper and quickly shows all your links. Thank you so much for making this!!
