Redo document menu and the interactions within

The document menu (the double-vegancheese-burger menu at the top right) 's UI should be tidied up. Perhaps separate issues for this (just documenting for now):

  • Reconsider where the menu is activated from and how it appears (e.g., overlayed on top of the document, or shift the document to the side and make room for itself, .. coming from the top.. or just be fixed at the top (like Google Docs for instance - I'm not a fan of this in particular but just staying... I think the vertical real-estate is expensive and probably shouldn't take up space for interactions that's used far less than what goes on in the main document i.e., writing).
  • Reconsider ToC location.. should it be a menu/container like thing showing up.

I like the simplicity of the current menu, but I think the features inside needs attention.

Some things to keep in mind:

The features that's accessible from the document-menu need not be tied to the document-menu i.e., those features are intended to be trigger-able from anywhere in the document. On that basis, it is probably a good idea to not embed a feature's view in document-menu. A feature will have its own default location to appear, but may be allowed to appear anywhere.
