PNP4Nagios Future / Status
Hi @lingej -
We have been using PNP4Nagios for many years on Nagios Core and are looking at moving to Naemon, with a Thruk frontend.
While planning our migration, we have been looking at graphing options and note that PNP4Nagios appears to have been sunsetted, or at least that active development has ceased. I have not been able to find any notes about this on your website, or in this repository.
Wondered if you could make a statement about your plans for the application and any future support/bug fixes?
Many thanks
FWIW, I have forked this repo and intend of taking it over. Like yourself, we've come to depend on this a bunch, as well. Please feel free to drop on by...
As I'm starting from the basics to make sure I have a "ground-up" perspective. Installing from source, I've currently published (and am updating) in a gist.
@russellvt and all
The need of pnp4nagios rpm for Rock Linux 8 bring me to this thread. If this project is re-activated, I can spend sometime on software packaging since I want to be able to do "dnf install pnp4nagios" like I did in CentOS 7. For now I downloaded "pnp4nagios-0.6.25-1.el7.src.rpm" and recompiled it on my RockyLinux 8 test box without much problem.
- Bringing pnp4nagios rpm to RL8 OS is not hard.

- The most important thing for pnp4nagios project is to out of "abandoned" status. Hope we have more pnp4nagios users step up to maintain this project.
Hello all, here's one more long time user of pnp4nagios. I regret that my favoured graphing tool for Nagios/Icinga is not maintained any more. Shouldn't we all get together and maintain pnp4nagios instead of creating a bunch of new forks?
I'll be willing to help! I'm not a "leader", but I got some experience in Perl/PHP. It will certainly take some time to get "in there", but I think it is worth it!
Hi All I no longer need pnp4nagios since since I am migrating out of NagiosCore. Still I hope others can participate to bring pnp4nagios out of abandoned status.
