Tarantulas are native to Africa, Asia, and Oceania in addition to Europe and the Americas as the guide states [1]. Also, while South American tarantulas may be slightly more venomous than North American tarantulas (because some large species are native to South America), tarantulas native to Asia, Africa, Europe, and Oceania are much more venomous than any tarantulas native to the Americas [2].
