Trying to change the layout option is not successful and is stuck on the 2017 setting, despite another opiton being chosen.

This has been an issue that I have been having with the extension for a few months at this point, and seeing as this is not quite fixed yet, I think I would leave a shout here. However, I have not seen anyone else experience the same thing before. If it is possibly a me issue, definitely provide some workarounds.
