Simplify "All apps" screen
There is a focused Favorites screen, but the "All apps" list can still be improved a lot. Two ways come to mind:
Hide apps which we really don’t need to show. Worst case you can check them out through the apps settings:
- [ ] Already favorited apps
- [ ] Useless things like: Settings (available in pull-down menu), Audio FX, Calibration, FM Radio (?), SIM Toolkit
- [ ] We could think about an additional manual hiding option when long-pressing on an app? And then entry on the bottom saying "Hidden apps" expanding those
Sorting apps to bottom which are less important or which we want to discourage using:
- [ ] "Background" apps which are only services: e.g. MuPDF, Book Reader, DAVdroid, FFUpdater
- [ ] App stores which take your focus away: Play Store, F-Droid, Aurora
What do you think @postapczuk?
Hi there, I've been using the launcher for a few weeks, nice job! I'm also using it for simplifying some old Android phones and giving them new life, preventing them to end up in the landfill.
Just came here for suggesting as well to give the option to hide items in the "All apps" screen: it's something I'm used to find in a lot of launchers, and I think it really gives you a cleaner interface by allowing to hide system services and similar stuff.
Just as an idea: long pressing an app in the "All apps" screen could open a pop-up menu giving the option to hide it, to go to the "App info" screen, and possibly to show all apps. This could allow to avoid a proper "Settings" screen, and thus keep the launcher simple.
Good job anyway, and thank you for developing this app!
What do you think about this in general @postapczuk @snug and others?

Good one, I was thinking something similar. The issue I have with long-press though that while it keeps the interface simple, it’s basically not discoverable at all.
