This is a new app that hasn't been released yet. The one on F-Droid is the old application.

Do you have an estimate of when the new version will be released in the F-Droid repository?

I'm not a developer for this project. But seeing that a few important features are still missing I'd say it will still take a bit for a release. Once the app is on F-Droid this repo is going to blow up with issues, so usually for a project of this scope you would want to have a somewhat stable version with most of the major features implemented before you publish it. But I could be wrong. Just keep in mind there are no ETAs in the Foss community... :)

Thanks for all the work on lichess and the mobile app.

Just found out the android app I use every day is depreciated and there is a new app. Got the new one installed via PlayStore. Usually use Fdroid whenever possible.

Maybe the 2+ year old version on Fdroid could be tagged as depreciated ?
