Pieces go missing sometimes

I sometimes get a game where a piece is missing visually but still present in the game. The piece never reappears, even if you refresh the page. This only happens (to me) on mobile (chrome on iOS).

I've found this to happen in IOS app as well. It happens very very rarely and the piece seems to come back if I click back & forward buttons.

Firefox user here. All pieces appear if the broken page is duplicated by pressing "duplicate tab" but not when copy pasting the link into a new tab.

I can confirm that this also happened to me when I was using Firefox (now using MEdge and no problems).

I had a similar problem using the Brave browser on my Android phone.

Steps to reproduce: throttle your download speed to 20KiB/s. The duplicate tab trick still works but the original tab does not load all the pieces. As requested, I have an integrated graphics card. My CPU model is a 7th gen i5.

I think it has nothing to do with GPU, sometimes CSS styles don't load on the front page for me in the same way on Firefox.

That seems unrelated, @link2xt. All the pieces are served as a CSS sprite in the same file.

Here is what happens sometimes. brown.svg did not load until I did "Ctrl+Shift+R" in Firefox.

But this does not explain how it's possible that knights from cburnett.css do not load sometimes, especially since they are not the last rows in the file.

I get issues like this on a chromebook once in a while, but the pieces and board eventually load (sometimes I have to reload the page), I'm pretty sure it was a problem with internet for me though.

You can safely reload the page with Ctrl+Shift+R, you will not leave the game as a result.

I played three games like this, and the white queen was always missing, no matter what color the opponent is. I'm using firefox89 on Ubuntu LTS.

So I tested something, i guess there is some problem with the piece set

It's definitely still happening, but don't know if more recent occurrences are due to Firefox cache or not. The latest report is missing knights & bishops using Firefox on Windows 7.
