Search bar on each category page that constrains results to that category, suggested some months back I forget by who.
Search bar on a topic page that matches within that topic, but displays results as full posts rather than abbreviated links. Suggested by DERG-CHESS as a way to filter a topic by user.
I'm not totally sure that's what you mean, but you can search a specific topic by a user with the current search bar, for example: "user:thibault [key word]".
Thanks! I directed derg_chess to your tip as it might address his need. This feature request stays active for now - showing the search bar on category and topic pages is a more discoverable way for users to limit scope.
are the search results going to show all posts in any thread that contain the keyword. it used to be like that. i will check again. But if someone could confirm that it is the case, that searches can be restricted to thread title. Then that could solve a lot of questions formulated near the possibly confusing term of "topic". For some "topic" is more general that thread title. unless one specifies topic title (then specifying title would restrict it). language is funny that way.... real fight.
