Nip2, text paint, VipsImage: memory area too small ..., you passed 0.

Hi

On trying to paint text (image window, paint mode) I get the following "VIPS library error.":

"VipsImage: memory area too small --- should be bytes, you passed 0"

??? Other paint actions work fine.

Linked to VIPS: 8.9.1-Sun Feb 23 08:51:26 UTC 2020 Built against VIPS: 8.6.5-Thu Jul 26 22:22:33 UTC 2018 $PACKAGE: nip2 $VERSION: 8.7.0

OS: Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon. (Nip2 installed with general Mint software manager)
