failure opening evdev is silent

If you are not in a group "input", then sdl fails to initialize keyboard under kmsdrm.

This is fine, except for being completely silent. Please add an error msg.

I suppose this should migrate into #13142 as with the currently used technique, sdl doesn't see any open failures. They simply do not propagate to udev monitor, unless I am mistaken.
