Display Statistics setting hidden behind overlays (bezels).

Open klepp0906 opened this issue 5 years ago • 3 comments

First and foremost consider this:

  • Only RetroArch bugs should be filed here. Not core bugs or game bugs
  • This is not a forum or a help section, this is strictly developer oriented

Description

I know this has been a problem (was a problem?) with standard onscreen notifications (the popup variant) in the past. I believe thats solved now. However if you are using an overlay/bezel of some sort and try to enable the Display Statistics setting in Onscreen Notifications, they do display, you can only see a fraction of them however as they render behind the overlay not in front of it.

Expected behavior

Said information to be in front of everything, including the overlays/bezels.

Actual behavior

Depending on the size of your bezel, you see a few letters/numbers jutting out from behind so you have to disable your overlay in order to use this setting.

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. play a game/config with a bezel loaded while having "display statistics" toggled ON.
  2. note the statistics are obscured by the bezel.
  3. [and so on...]

If you enable the option to show the overlay behind the menu, as a side effect, it also fixes this issue.

how do you do this? I have never seen this option, but would love to know where to fix my notifications appearing behind overlays/bezels and every now and then my screen flickering with letters and numbers with PSX Beetle HW core. The latter issue might be just core related; but all of Retroarch for me suffers from fancy widget notifications being hidden behind the overlays

widgets behind overlays should already be fixed in the nightly builds, IIRC.
