[Feature Request] <FEATURE NAME>please use orca, the screen reader in linux, remote control feature to speak retroarch in place of espeak
On microsoft windows, retroarch uses NVDA to speak. I'm not certain what it does on mac but assume it uses voice over. Orca's remote is brand new but it has the ability to speak and braille messages and that's what's important. Docs are in readme-remote-controller.md
Maybe related to #17761
It is related to that issue, the difference is that if orca remote is uesd, the user's speech and braille settings are also used. There are other speech synthesizers for linux and those can be used with retroarch if retroarch switches over to orca remote
If orca's new remote was used, speech dispatcher will be used, along with orca's preset rate, pitch, etc settings. But there is already a pull request open for speech-dispatcger, that would work as a compromise if you guys don't want to add orca remote support
just in case you guys are interested, orca's remote documentation is contained in the file readme-remote-controller.md in orca's git repository
