Mupen64 on android isn't full screen and goes black screen

Open febs opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

Using retroarch plus from the android play store. This is happening since 1.9.3 at least and in 1.9.5 is still there.

Description

Using either core of mupen (GLES2 or GLES3) leads to the same behaviour. Parallel core isn't available in that android version.

The emulated window doesn't take up the space it should if integer scale is not enabled (any other core works fine).

Most importantly, if I switch to any other app and then get back, the screen goes totally black to to return. Audio keeps playing. Only thing to do is exiting retroarch and starting over. This also only happens with Mupen, all other cores work fine when switching back and forth to other apps.

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. Install retroarch plus on Android 10 from the play store
  2. Install and run mupen64 (any version) with any rom.
  3. Notice how the screen doesn't take up the space it should even with integer scale disabled
  4. Switch to another app, go back to retroarch and face a black, non reversible screen.

Bisect Results

Since I started using retroarch on Android (that is version 1.9.3)

Hello there. Running on a different phone now (Samsung Galaxy S20+) and a very recent version of Retroach (Build date 7 Aug 2022) and ParaLLEl core: 2.0-rc2 29e7f39.

Issue is still there.

This also happens if I enter the menu, and then go back to the emulator. Black screen.

Thanks.

I'm closing this myself since nobody is caring.

That play store version isn't getting updated in any case, so I'd check what happens with the actual current version + core version from the website. Might already be fixed.
