Open soulstorm64 opened this issue 5 years ago • 2 comments

Description

When Enabling the Hotkey for Mouse Grab on OS X El Capitan 10.11.6, It seemingly does not activate and leaves the mouse pointer freely move in the background, Causing hitches in most trackball games that go beyond the inner windows resolution.

Expected behavior

Mouse Pointer locks on screen allowing for full use of trackball movement

Actual behavior

Locking the mouse seems to do nothing. trying to enable Game Focus to circumvent the issue also results in no Mouse locking

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. Press Bound Mouse Grab HotKey
  2. Expect Mouse to be locked in place
  3. Mouse is not locked in place

I'm experiencing this issue as well in macOS 12.3.1 on apple silicon with retroarch-metal 1.10.2

I can confirm that mouse grab is still broken on macOS. Currently running macOS 12.5.1 and retroarch metal 1.11.1

The hotkey, when bound to almost anything, doesn't seem to be able to turn mouse grab on and off. Also, the auto mouse grab setting doesn't seem to work either.

Basically, any game that uses the mouse will have it interfere with the desktop, activating the doc, etc. It will seem to work for a minute or so, and then the mouse will go out of bounds and start interacting with the desktop. This makes it almost impossible to play any games that use the mouse. Tested on PUAE (Amiga core) and DosBox-Pure, so the problem doesn't seem to be related to the core.
