Tickers not showing up after logging into KDE until one clicks `refresh`

Having installed YapStocks via the "Get more stuff" feature, the stocks do show up but disappear after logging out and in again. Clicking refresh makes them appear.

This is a known issue. I'm yet to find a way to know whether network has changed from QML. Plasma doesn't seem to expose this. The issue is that your PC is probably not connected to the internet when just started hence that request stalled. A fresh is a workaround for now...

Yes, it takes a few seconds to connect to the Wi-Fi.
