Add Grayjay as a Frontend for multiple platforms
https://grayjay.app/
Is this Possible?
I've been waiting to open an issue for this for a while. I noticed that they added initial support in, I think, version 4 to run Greyjay as a server and headless. Anyway, I'm thinking this should definitely be possible to implement in the future.
https://github.com/futo-org/Grayjay.Desktop/commit/e9d402525f10ce34236f29c4e795d5bec333e2f6#diff-2A679B50AC8A764D518FBE6DC766933B
- Server mode (--server): Allows you to use Grayjay from a server in your browser, binds to all ips, DISABLES system, login, and captcha dialogs. (Assumes remote)
- WARNING: Server mode is still intended single-user, and has no security features built in yet, so not really intended to use yet unless you know what you're doing!
-
- Headless mode (--headless): Allow you to use Grayjay from your browser instead, while still allowing system, login, and captcha dialogs. (Assumes local)
any updates?
Grayjay needs to mature more. It is not stable as FreeTube in desktop side.

The reliability compared to FreeTube however on desktop has been significantly better in my testing for the past few weeks. While GrayJay isn't open source, it is one of the more reactive and reliable third-party clients for YouTube (and other services) which should add to the importance of having a redirect hook.
It's source available, but license has never been a focal point for Libredirect inclusion AFAIK. But yeah agreed Grayjay very quickly started working with YouTube again whilst for the past 3 weeks FreeTube is still not working.
