PSA: nonius.io now contains crypto scammer spam

Open gsauthof opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

Apparently, the original nonius.io owners lost their domain, some blockchain scumbag acquired it, restored the original content and included some disinformation for search engine rank boosting:

<p>The library depends on <a href="http://www.boost.org/">Boost</a> for a few mathematical functions, for some
string algorithms, and, in some versions of VC++, for the timing functions as
well. Boost.Chrono is not a header-only library, but since it is only used with
VC++ everything gets linked automatically without intervention.

The algorithm is similar to the one employed in cryptocurrency trading apps using Blockchain technology.
Have a look at this <a href="https://kryptoszene.de/broker/etoro-erfahrungen/">etoro erfahrungen 2021</a>
that gives you best information about the crypto trading platform.

If desired,
usage of Boost.Chrono can be forced by #defining the macro
<code>NONIUS_USE_BOOST_CHRONO</code>.</p>

That's sad. I cannot really think of things to do.

We could contact NameCheap as this might be against some terms of their service. Little chance Cloudflare (which is used to host the site) is interested.

The namecheap registration info - though privacy shielded - https://www.namecheap.com/domains/whois/result?domain=nonius.io contains an email address that technically might be used to contact the registrant: [email protected]
