duplicated display

I have some contacts beginning with polish national letters. As you can see on the screenshot below (yellow mark) everytime if such contact is on the list previous letter is duplicated - and this is one duplication per contact, so: I have two contacts beginning with Ł - the list is L Ł L Ł L one contact beginning with Ś -> S Ś S one with Ż -> Z Ż Z And this is not only duplication on the letters list. All contacts starting wit L i have three times on the list etc! And all of the are counted in the left panel! - so I have 244 contacts synchronized with another devices (it is ok!), but 295 displayed on the list in contactsplus.

How do you think a solution would look like?

1. Only show ascii-letters in the first letter list? In this case, all accented letters will be grouped in a single "non ascii" container (not a well solution, I think).
2. Define internal lists with accented characters, that belong together for any language? This will be a hard work, I think and I don't know, if this practically can work well.
3. Leave it as it is and then all languages with many (first) accented characters have long lists. No problem in english at all and in german the best solution because we only have a handfull of them and I like to have them separate in german. But I see your problem. Are there much more possible first letters than your example shows? If not, it would probably be the best solution, to live with a longer list for some languages. Because separate letters are separate grouped as it should be ...

Do you have any better idea for a solution for all languages?

Duplication seems to be a bug. How are the contacts grouped there? Does the first "Z" link to the same Name as the second "Z"?

Edit: Maybe I misunderstood on first read. You have no problem with accented first characters in characters list, haven't you?

Yes, it is a bug :) With chars list and contacts list contatcs list look smilar to my screenshot. [Z] Zcontact_1 Zcontact_2 [Ż] Żcontact_1 [Z] Zcontact_1 Zcontact_2

all contacts on letter followed by accented one are duplicated and are displayed second time after the accented letter.

How to resolve that? I don't know. If it doesn't work correctly as is, maybe... list of accented, national letters assigned for all latin ones? Something like this: $A = ['A','Ą',À','Á','Â','Ã','Ä','Å']; ...etc. It will be filled on users request of course. hmmm, is this your point 2? In Polish there are 9 accented chars, but two of them are not used on the beginning of any word.
