1.0.3 - Import Errors

Open MNOCFan opened this issue 10 years ago • 7 comments

Importing .ics into the default calendar worked great, but importing into any new calendar throws an error. Any advice on this?

Damn rookies... :) ownCloud 8.1.1 Calendar+ 1.0.3 Apache 2.4.7 (Ubuntu) PHP 5.5.9

  • Import error reads "Import Failed"
  • I have tried drag and drop and create new calendar.
  • I have tried creating a new calendar and importing into it.
  • I have tried creating a new calendar, adding something to it, and then import with the option to delete all during import. Everything was deleted, but import failed. No items imported.
  • I have tried disabling the original ownCloud calendar, and importing by clicking on the .ics.
  • I have tried Firefox and Internet Explorer 11.

Conclusion: Importing my 1st calendar into the default calendar created by Calendar+ worked perfectly. Additional calendars failed.

Update: All these calendars that have failed I have been exporting from the original ownCloud Calendar app. I later discovered that some worked, and some didn't. And it didn't seem like it was a naming convention that was balling it up.

So to test something else, I took a calendar that I exported from ownCloud Calendar, that failed to import into Calendar+ called "Reminders". I took this calendar and imported it into Google Calendar, success. So next, I exported the calendar from Google and tried to import that into Calendar+, success.

Not sure what the issue was with original export, which btw I have tried a new export multiple times, but it works to import to Google, export, and then import into Calendar+.

@MNOCFan Sorry...a bit off topic: But where do you get Calendar+ V 1.0.3??? I only see 1.02 on the appstore!

@farson2003 I downloaded right from here on github. And once downloaded and installed, it says version 1.0.3. Seems to work much more better than the one I tried from the app store.

is it possible to paste a calendar.ics file where the import failed?

Reading this makes me wonder whether my issue is related: Imported first cal via drag-and-drop just fine. For second file, I just got the short spinning animation, but then nothing happend. Tried multiple times without success. Ended up placing the .ics to the files app, clicked it there, imported it successfully. In case you want the file: you can find it here.

If you ask why I not simply subscribe it: I've tried, but that caused an even bigger issue: mod_security refused the "too large request body" by getimportdialogtplcalendar (SecRequestBodyNoFilesLimit set to 128k), and calendar importer got stuck – heating Apache with ~90% CPU for about 15min without any progress (or error) shown until I restarted Apache. Took me a while to figure. No more clues from either Apache or OC logs, sorry.
