No GMaps? OSM showing names in local language.

Since OSM shows the names of cities and other things in the local language/letters, it would make sense to let the people choose Google Maps too. Or is there a way to change the language behavior in OSM?

Google Maps support and especially satellite view would be very helpful. But I'm guessing there is a cost attached to using GMaps?

+1 was trying to use this while flying over Japan, and all the labels are in Japanese. There needs to be an option to normalize locale to user, instead of map region.
