Using front matter date with Calendar

Hi, I don't use Daily notes, Is it possible to use Frontmatter/YAML dates with the Calendar plugin ? E.G I start my Obsidian notes with this at top of each file.

Would be great if the Calendar plugin could pickup/use the Frontmatter "date: " value as well.
