Passing command-line arguments to main reactor

I think it would be very useful if the C and Python (havent checked the others) supported parsing command line arguments and passing them to the main reactor. The Cpp target implements this quite nicely using cxxopt. Are there good reasons for not implementing something similar in C and Python?
