I think the upstream is a slightly different issue, but will dive deeper again.

Reading through the bugzilla reports I think this issue is a bit different... it looks like we actually account for the bugs in CorsixTH in a workaround on those issues....

Some further update: The way the volume gets set for sounds in SDL always works. But the way music is done it won't obey until music plays.

It actually seems the whole class is full of oddities... I'm pretty sure @Alberth289346 noticed this way before I did though...
