Design for new site

It looks really nice, but I'm not big on that kind of design for documentation, it seems a bit rich.
FWIW, we've always planned on doing design last, and we've had others offer to do design, so it seems like we should at least offer this opportunity up for others to give it a shot too. Also, I don't think it needs to be taken for granted that the folks who design it should necessarily implement it. So we could get some designs going and either collaborate on the HTML/LESS with the designer and/or do it separately.
I personally would have preferred to wait to launch until the design was done, but I think we can use this to our advantage now, and maybe ask for folks to submit designs? just my 2c. definitely your call
I'd love to see a design that works with the functional layout of the new site.. that looks based on the old one?
They have a front-end person that can implement it. I'll get back to them with our concerns.

No, not really. @jeromeds you want to make a mockup or a pr? To avoid disappointment, I would consult as you go along, as if people don't think its better it could be stalled or not go in. e. g. Imo it must follow the existing site structure unless you have a more useful way of structuring the information. other contributors may consider other requirements important.
