Click and drag working inconsistently

Open mimuki opened this issue 2 years ago • 4 comments

I have my .keynavrc set up with m drag 1- here is my full config, in case it's helpful.

My process for clicking and dragging something is:

  • bring up keynavish
  • navigate to the thing i want to drag
  • warp my cursor to it
  • bring up keynavish again
  • press M to start dragging
  • move to where i want to let go
  • press space to warp to that place and left click

But that only works 50% of the time.

If i use a website like https://cps-check.com/drag-test for testing, i can see visually when it's successfully holding down left click. For some reason, i need to press M twice sometimes, before it starts dragging? My only guess is that my left clicking at the end isn't "turning off" drag, so when i press M a second time to drag something else, instead of starting to drag it's "turning drag off". But I can't use M at the end to "drag to where I have keynavish aimed at, and toggle drag off", unless I'm misunderstanding something? What's the intended way to use drag, if what I'm doing isn't right? (Or if I'm doing everything right and it's still breaking- consider this a bug report :) )

Thanks for your time.

following up on this, behaviour that works fine in keynav doesn't work in keynavish, with keynav I can just press m to start dragging, then move or cut to where i want to stop dragging (with the cursor moving and dragging with each move/cut). so this seems to be a keynavish specific issue

Thanks for the bug report and sorry for the late reply. What version of Windows are you using? (You can run winver to get the exact version)

I've finally had some time to compare the behaviour of keynav and keynavish. It indeed seems like the mouse pointer is moved while dragging in keynav (i.e. drag implies warp on grid changes), so this is a compatbility issue too.
