footnotes accept spaces in identifiers

According to https://www.markdownguide.org/extended-syntax/#:~:text=To%20create%20a%20footnote%20reference,output%2C%20footnotes%20are%20numbered%20sequentially.

spaces are not allowed in a [^footnote reference] ==> [^footnote_reference]
