IDE controller breaks when copying from CD to disk

When copying file from a CD drive (DQA1) to the hard drive (DQA0) with the DCL COPY command, the IDE controller breaks after a while and can't read anything.

As a workaround for this, you can use the SCSI CD-ROM drive to hold the CD.

Probably I hit this problem when installing VSI-OpenVMS: after 30% the controler broke every time and the disk to be installed became unavailable.

When I changed the disk to SCSI ( and left the CD-rom on the IDE controller) I was succesfull installing.

Thank you for reporting this - it never happened to me, but the bug could be nondeterministic (perhaps a race condition).
