Enhanced Virtual Node Support

Open jonstelly opened this issue 3 years ago • 0 comments

What would you like to be added: Running AKS with Virtual Node support, the virtual node shows up as having 10k CPUs and 4TB of Memory. This causes the Cluster graph and resources view to have a completely messed up scale. (limit 10/10k CPU is effectively 0 on the chart and the radial display). I'm not sure exactly what behavior I'd like to see here, but a couple options:

  1. Exclude Virtual Node resources from the totals here (look for type: virtual-kubelet label on the node and exlclude it from the totals
  2. A toggle somewhere on this screen to enable/disable the above behavior
  3. A toggle on the cluster settings?

I think I'd prefer something like 2 so I could easily switch back and forth between both with and without virtual resources.

Why is this needed: It's a nice to have but will probably become more needed as virtual nodes become more popular

Environment you are Lens application on: AKS with Virtual Nodes enabled, default Lens install (5.0) on Windows

  • Kubernetes distribution: AKS
  • Desktop OS: Windows
