[Bug] Error opening program: Closes immediately after opening

Bug description

It appears that the program is closing immediately after being opened. I have tried running it in safe mode and using compatibility options, but the issue persists. I have also checked for known issues with the program and potential solutions, but have not been able to find any.

After a few months of working properly ChatGPT on windows 10 also after updating to 22H2.. I have the same problem with ChatGPT to the desktop, despite the update to version 1.0. gives, deleting files from User .chatcgpt also. [ https://github.com/lencx/ChatGPT/issues/716 ]

I`am checking without which probrams the application does not work and automatically shuts down after startup, also. because the day before yesterday I removed, for example, microsoft edge, and some other unnecessary programs.... I can only see that in this I might have been at fault.... but I shouldn't be....

i am working on it for the second day and it irritates my autism terribly. if i do not find a way i will be further irritated :) give your support autistic activists :P

I will add that the icon appears when you click on the .exe, unfortunately when you click on the start bar (by the clock) on the icon makes it disappear.... and so for the 2nd day now.... there are few such problems and their solutions equal zero....

@user4298539 I tried that as well as installing the latest version of WebView2, continues to fail.

Some of my other WebView2 applications were messed up and I had to update the application. I'm thinking the WebView2 dependencies need to be updated in here. @lencx

Okay the trick here for me was this

1. Kill all instances of ChatGPT with the command from Administrator PowerShell: taskkill /f /im chatgpt*
2. Download the latest version of WebView2 x64
3. Install it
4. Remove or rename the .chatgpt folder in the C:\Users\<your username> folder.
5. Run from Administrator PowerShell: taskkill /f /im msedge* to close ALL msedge and webview2 instances
6. Open Settings > Apps > search webview
7. Click the hamburger menu option on it, click Modify, then Repair
8. Let is run through the repair
9. Launch ChatGPT

The WebView2 packages are still out-of-date in version 1.1.0 as of 2024-05-29, but using this method in this order I was finally able to get it to come up.
