sdl2 client text disappearing or glitching out

it makes the client almost unusable, im not sure what is happening or what causes it

for context, i am on running from flake on nixos, im using hyprland (wayland). the issue can be simply seen by looking at the right portion of the screen, a small part of the window is simply "glitched out"
