Little more documentation on shell scripts would be nice

For example can we use the when part in shell scripts? I would need one to be executed on a daily basis while I need others on a weekly routine. Therefore I can't play with the backupninja global defaults. Does the .sh script just get executed or do you still parse it so that the when still gets parsed?
