Bug description

The app is all of a sudden very unresponsive and constantly gives me the spinning wheel whenever i engage with it. I click on the menu bar icon to join a call and it will give me a spinning wheel. I click on preferences and spinning wheel for a bit then loads. Within preferences, any tabs I click on will also give me a spinning wheel then load slowly. Anything I engage with, within the application MeetingBar, I get a spinning wheel before anything happens.

Reproduction steps

Go to menu bar and click Spinning wheel Calendar eventually loads Click on preferences Spinning wheel Preferences eventaully loads Click on Calendars Spinning wheel Scroll down thru my list of calendars Spinning wheel

Expected behavior

Just last week things were working fine and never got spinning wheel.

Tried everything I could -- removed all calendars. changed from mac os cal to google cal. uninstalled and reinstalled. uninstalled then reinstalled via homebrew... nothing is working. its still always giving me a spinning wheel before anything happens. often throughout the day i look up to my menu bar to see what events are coming up and i notice that its grey so its hard to read and when i click it gives me a spinning wheel for a few seconds before it loads which is a bit annoying to have to wait after years of having it load instantly. please let me know if anyone has any thoughts on what i could try to resolve this. ty!

Still having this issue -- I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro M1 and installed Meetingbar and works perfectly as intended. On my Mac M1 Mini, I'm still having this issue with the spinning wheel though -- anyone else? Any suggestions on how to COMPLETELY do a clean install perhaps?

I am noticing that even after deleting all of the meetingbar files that when i reinstall, all of my previous settings have been applied. it seems like i am missing some files when doing a "clean install." i am hoping by completely deleting ALL files related to this app i can resolve this issue. any support here would be great -- how can i delete any and ALL files associated to the app? I am doing a finder search on my mac for "meetingbar" and deleting any and all files but doesnt seem to be doing the trick. thanks

I've FINALLY found the bug. When enabling the details as submenu option under the Appearance tab, it will completely lag out the app. to make the app usable again, you need to disable this feature!

@leits -- i hope this is helpful :)

thanks!

Hi @moonxkang, Sorry for the delay and glad to hear that you figure it out!

There can be an issue with event note processing when details as submenu is on. I have tried to fix it with 4.7.1, can you check if it works for you know?

hey thanks for getting back to me @leits. unfortunately, I'm still having the same issue with the spinning wheel when I turn on details as submenu. on 4.7.1 :(

I am also seeing a spinning wheel while using the Google Calendar with quite a number of calendars (approx 25). I did not touch any setting...

I don't know if it's related, but I get a spinning wheel and eventually have to force quit the app when I visit MeetingBar Preferences > Calendars. I'm running 4.10.0
