this is for cases in which the user has a specific set of genes (or regions) they are interested in comparing without bringing in things which may be highly similar but are irrelevant to their purposes.

in an ideal world, it's a nice to have; if difficult, I guess as long as the irrelevant tracks get "unloaded" after following a URL and clicking some UI element to dismiss them it's not such a big deal.

It should be relatively easy. Should this be part of the version 2 release or is it OK to leave for 2.0.1?
