Gmail auto-advance setting not respecting bundle ordering

Open davidofwatkins opened this issue 5 months ago • 4 comments

I love the v3 update, especially the Google Inbox-style bundling! 👏 However, Gmail's "auto-advance" feature doesn't proceed to the next email within a bundle. Instead, it often moves to an older email outside of the bucket.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Expand a bundle containing several emails.
  2. Open the first email in that bucket.
  3. Archive that email. (I usually do this via the e keyboard shortcut.)
  4. Expected: I am shown the next email thread in that bucket.
    • Actual: I am shown some other (older) email thread (possibly belonging to another bucket).

It's worth noting that if I use the left/right arrows at the top-right of Gmail or the j and k keyboard shortcuts to navigate between emails, the ordering is correct.
