Beacon Reciever Position Needs Improvement
Description
Every car in the train has a BeaconReciever for dealing with safety system events etc. This is currently fixed at the exact mid-point of the car, and is updated when the length of the car is changed via extensions.cfg / train.dat.
Prototypically speaking, an AWS / ATC etc. reciever for track-mounted magnets / balises would tend to be located on the bogie itself. If ETRMS or similar wireless based signalling standards, then a roof mounted aerial, probably somewhere above the front cab; Remember that limits etc. apply from when the front of the first car of a train enters a restricted section.
Legacy compatibility reasons mean that changing this as a default for train.dat is unlikely to be a good move.
Required Changes:
- When train.xml is fully implemented (as opposed to a glorified extensions.cfg), move the default reciever location to the front of the car for this format only. Will require a specific note to this effect.
- Add a controlling parameter to train.xml to allow this to be specified independantly.
