How do I get the mouse to work?

I cannot seem to get the mouse to work, I am using Archaine and Oregon Trail Deluxe, both load, the mouse doesn't move in either.

Mentioned programs don't seem to work properly on original NTVDM either (tested on Windows XP 32bit).
