Income statement spanning one or more year ends

A change in 1.9 removed the 'Ignore year ends' option for the Income statement. I think that might have impacted my ability to run income statements for multiple years combined. What I mean is: suppose I want to see what my overall performance was from say the middle of the last financial year to the middle of this financial year, i.e spanning a year end. If I run that now, with the correct dates, all I get is the post yearend close values, because the 'yearend' entries have zeroed all the income and expenses in the first year. The same thing obviously applies if the date range spans more than one year end. The data to be 'added back' is in table account_checkpoint, I think, and is therefore independent of the actual Reference given in the year end close process.

Please implement an enhancement to allow income statements to span year ends. Thanks.
