Allow for selection of different auto generated thumbnails for videos
Desired behavior
When generating a thumbnail for a video resource, it would be nice if the user could choose a particular time/frame from which to use as the thumbnail. The user could be presented with different options, or simply a slider to choose which time.
Current behavior
The auto-generation chooses one particular frame and that's it.
Value add
If multiple videos have intros, the existing auto-generation may result in the same thumbnail for multiple videos, which isn't ideal. Allowing the user to select a particular frame from the video would negate the issue.
Possible tradeoffs
Providing some options vs allowing the user finer grained manual selection of the time.

@bjester @MisRob can i work on this issue ?

Adding "needs decisions" as it seems we will need designs or at least discussing this with designers at first.
Hi @yash1378, thanks for volunteering. I believe this is not ready to be resolved yet. I assigned you a different issue.
The mediabunny library (which we may want to use anyway for frontend video/audio conversion and compression) has a nice demo of this: https://mediabunny.dev/examples/thumbnail-generation/
