The issue arise in the case of fresh installation/setup of server. If you go to Watch (Tab in Menu Bar) and play any video ( yes you can play as there is no issue over there) After that come back to playlist and try playing the videos from playlist, they will play.

So, someone confirm this behaviour and any suggestions to fix that.

Hmm so I can confirm this on Chrome as well -- in console video.js is saying "No compatible source and playback technology were found." ~ ln 441

As @anuragkanungo mentions, I was able to get it to work after navigating to the same video in "Watch" and then back to playlists. Logging out and logging back in made no diff. In firefox for me, slightly different issue, the assigned playlist boxes aren't even loading for me on the home page while logged in as a student! However, upon first page load (without going to "Watch", the video loaded correctly. So really, really strange.

This seems to be a sort of obscure issue and I'm not exactly sure how to go about debugging... It would be helpful to know if we are seeing this on Mac and/or Windows as well I think because then we know it's a code issue, rather than some weird library that video.js might depend on and somehow ubuntu is messing that up. I'll fire up the Windows laptop and report back.

Wasn't able to complete registration on Windows.... :unamused:

Anyway, I don't think this is a hugely pressing issue since there is a workaround, so I'm going to move on for today and we can circle back.

I'll close this for now. Let's revisit this again when we have more users complaining about this.
