Black screen Ubuntu MATE 20.04.1 LTS

I installed latest image, updated all files. Ubuntu MATE is unusable on RP 3+ in graphical mode so I switched to text only mode with

sudo systemctl set-default multi-user.target

I rebooted and on the monitor I get normal Ubuntu text mode.

I then ran :

MHS35-show

The RP rebooted and the screen is just black.

FYI this fix to the cmdline.txt fixed the black screen issue on ubuntu MATE 20.10: https://github.com/goodtft/LCD-show/issues/305
