I think this transparency model has been trained to determine which pixels should be removed when the background color is 50% gray, or when converted to 50% gray in brightness.

However, in this case, there are quite a few color pixels that are 50% gray in brightness equivalent, so there is a good chance that areas that you don't want to be transparent will become transparent.

If you train it to use white or black as the transparent color, I think you'll be able to perform cutout operations over a wider range.
