Why Learning Paths Can't Exist on Layer5.io Alone

The Learning Paths content cannot be a standalone feature on layer5.io for several reasons:

• *Missing Core Infrastructure: It lacks the necessary layouts and CSS from the Academy.
• No Progress Tracking: The content is not integrated with the Cloud's record-keeping functionality.
• Maintenance Overhead: Duplicating the content in multiple places creates maintenance challenges.

Option 1: Complete Removal

• Action: Delete the entire "Learning Paths" section from the Resources on layer5.io. The only entry point to the Academy would be a direct link in the main navigation bar.
• Pros: Simple, requires zero maintenance.
• Cons: Reduces the amount of content and visibility of academy

Option 2: Full Synchronization

• Action: Keep the detailed learning path cards on layer5.io and link each one to its corresponding page in the Cloud. This would require a process for keeping the cards updated, either manually or via an API.
• Pros: Retains the maximum amount of detailed content on the layer5.io site.
• Cons: High maintenance overhead. Alsp the user experience might be confusing; jumping from a detailed card on one site to a different platform can feel lacking context.

Option 3: Visual Teaser / Signpost

• Action: Keep the "Learning Paths" section, but replace the individual learning path cards with a single, low-maintenance visual element(animation or GIF). This visual would be paired with a clear button (e.g., "Checkout All Learning Paths") that directs users to the Academy homepage.
• Pros:
  • Zero Maintenance: No backend or API integration is needed to keep content in sync.
  • Maintains Visibility: It effectively preserves the visibility of the Academy as a key resource on the main site.
  • Clear & Simple UX: It acts as an effective signpost, guiding user attention to the Academy without the confusing context.

Recommendation

Option 3 is the recommended approach. It strikes the best balance: it avoids the complex backend and maintenance of Option 2 while still highlighting our educational resources, a benefit that is lost in Option 1.

I would say to remove the content and just keep the cards or list of the courses and link them to the cloud. (option-3). // @zihanKuang

@zihanKuang Personally, I feel option 3 makes the most sense. It keeps visibility but no heavy maintenance. I'd like to pick this up and help implement it
