lftp -e and -o together with put

I cannot reproduce it. Try enabling debug to see what DELE command is sent to the server.

Replace symlink after removing previous symlink

I don't like removing the old file without knowing it's a symlink first. Mirror should itself remove the old symlink if necessary.

Add ftp compat wrapper

AFAIK, the edit command is already implemented in lftp. Memory management can be improved using x* containers (xstring etc). Please consider configure --without-modules too.
