Keyboard shortcut to search all notes should reveal note list if hidden

Open evandeaubl opened this issue 1 year ago • 0 comments

Environment

Joplin version: 2.8.8 Platform: Linux OS specifics: Arch Linux up to date

Steps to reproduce

  1. Hide note list, either by hitting F11 or using the option under Edit
  2. Hit F6 to attempt to search all notes

Describe what you expected to happen

Because the search bar for searching all notes is in the note list, I expected that using the keyboard shortcut would implicitly unhide the note list in order to do the search. It does not; the keyboard shortcut only works properly if the note list is already visible.

It's easily worked around by hitting F11 before F6, but then you need to check or remember whether the note list is visible or not, and hit either F6 or F11/F6 to do a global search, which kind of reduces the point of having a simple keyboard shortcut.
