Password authentication does not support extended ascii characters
Environment
Joplin version: 2.6.10 Platform: Linux OS specifics: Arch Linux, 5.15.13, KDE Plasma
Steps to reproduce
- Set a password containing extended ascii characters as the password for a nextcloud user (I will be using
This_is_a_test_Í) - Enter the crendentials and url in the synchronization settings
- Press "Check synchronization configuration"
Describe what you expected to happen
The check should succeed and the client should be logged in. This only happens when including an extended ascii character, using a password without the Í works.
#2219 might have had the same underlying cause, even though the author did not have 2fa enabled they could only get a working connection once creating an app password (which is alpha numberic with dashes, for example XsHJD-eekpE-AFX3g-X4RGw-6mQkz)

The following gets shown in the UI (the logfile does not contain other or more information)
Error. Please check that URL, username, password, etc. are correct and that the sync target is accessible.
The reported error was:
PROPFIND : Username or password was incorrect, No 'Authorization: Bearer' header found.
Either the client didn't send one, or the server is mis-configured
