Unresponsive UI when switching into GitX
I recently upgraded to GitX 0.8.4 (L) from GitX 0.7.1. It now takes several seconds for the GitX UI to become responsive after cmd-tabbing into GitX from another application. The UI also becomes stuck for several seconds on the commit view at the "Running post-commit-hook..." stage after committing, even though the repository has no post-commit-hook, and committing from the commandline (and indeed, from GitX 0.7.1) is instantaneous. I tried disabling "Refresh automatically" in the preferences, but the problem remains; there appears to be some other automatic refreshing triggered by switching into the application and committing that is not disabled by that flag.
The problem could be a consequence of the rather large repository I'm working in, which is a clone of https://github.com/slavapestov/factor .
+1, this happens to me as well on large repos. EXTREMELY annoying. :(
Yes, it's noticeably slower than previous gitx.
Just for the record GitX-L is so slow on even medium-sized repos (~4k commits and files) that I've gone back to the brotherbard fork. There's a noticeable performance difference between GitX-L v0.8.0 and brotherbard even (though v0.8.0 is much faster than the latest release).

Running the latest GitX source (and with the "load all commits" option checked), I tried opening the factor repository linked above. I don't see any responsiveness problems, cmd-tabbing in or committing.
Maybe its time for a new release so that others can check if this is fixed.
@mschaaf agreed. @laullon can you please cut a new release?
