Improved documentation for synchronising histdb on multiple hosts

Synchronising the histdb over more then 3 hosts is causing all sorts of git issues, but perhaps I'm not using some of the histdb-* features correctly. Would be nice to get an idea of whether or not it's worth attempting to sync more than a couple of hosts. How are other people coping with this?
