<Alt>+P and <Alt>+N custom keybindings are overridden by command history navigation

I tried to set <Alt>+P and <Alt>+N to "next tab" and "previous tab", respectively. But the key presses act like <Ctrl>+P and <Ctrl>+N (or arrow up and arrow down), meaning "previous command" and "next command", anyway.
